Teq’s iBlocks Earns iKeepSafe COPPA Safe Harbor and FERPA Certifications

Teq’s iBlocks Earns iKeepSafe COPPA Safe Harbor and FERPA Certifications

September 24, 2024—iKeepSafe is pleased to announce that iBlocks (www.iBlocks.com, a Teq product) has earned the iKeepSafe COPPA Safe Harbor and FERPA Certifications. These certifications signify that iBlocks has been proactively and independently assessed by iKeepSafe, an experienced privacy protection organization.

iKeepSafe Privacy Certifications simplify privacy compliance for education technology vendors and make it easy for schools to identify websites, apps, data management platforms, and other technology products that follow various privacy laws governing student data. Products that carry the iKeepSafe badge provide educators and parents with the assurance that the product meets iKeepSafe’s standards in the areas of privacy, safety, and security.

iBlocks are innovative, experiential project-based learning (PBL) activities that engage students in critical thinking, teamwork, and fun. An iBlock is a student-led, teacher-guided activity that focuses on exciting topics, such as STEAM, CTE, and design thinking, which builds cross-curricular skills and culminates in a capstone project. Built around the engineering design process, iBlocks encourage exploratory trial and error as students interact authentically with real-world problems and questions, fostering students’ future-ready skills. Throughout the process of researching, designing, and iterating, students will produce an innovative project to proudly share with their class, school, or even the world. Available both digitally on iBlocks Online and in physical printed formats, iBlocks are adaptable to any school or district’s preferred method of learning, ensuring success for every student and teacher.

“iBlocks started with traditional printed materials for our project-based learning topics. As we expanded the number of topics and brought the product online, receiving the COPPA and FERPA privacy certifications was very important to us,” said Damian Scarfo, CEO or Teq. “Now with over 40 PBL topics and growing, our customers can be confident that we’ve met the most rigorous standards to protect their privacy.”

“We congratulate iBlocks on earning the iKeepSafe COPPA Safe Harbor and FERPA  Certifications! Their commitment to this process clearly shows their dedication to safeguarding student data,” said iKeepSafe President Amber Lindsay.
